Permeable Pavers

As developments continue to go grow, so too does the concentration of impermeable pavements. (areas water can’t infiltrate into the ground) These impervious surfaces create additional storm water runoff which leads to erosion and often introduces pollutants into our drinking water. Permeable Pavers (Eco Pavers) are pre-formed concrete tiles made in the same fashion as traditional interlocking concrete pavers. Permeable pavers, as the name implies, are designed to allow rain water to infiltrate into the subsoil.
Permeable pavers can be used in many of the same applications such as patios, walkways, and driveways. The difference in these systems are the way in which they are installed and their water infiltration properties. Permeable pavers can greatly reduce storm water runoff and in many cases the water can be stored underground for things like watering plants.
Due to the amount of impervious surface on many residential properties, areas all over the country are now mandating the use of items like permeable pavers to reduce runoff.
We have the knowledge to design & build functional permeable paver systems throughout Blair, Centre, Clearfield, Indiana, & Jefferson Counties. This includes areas like Altoona, Clearfield, Dubois, Brookville, Punxsutawney, Indiana, Philipsburg, and State College. The construction of these systems has some crucial differences to interlocking pavers in terms of base preparation and requirements. Some central Pennsylvania paver companies will not take enough time to set the base properly. You’ve probably seen paver patios where settling has occurred, making the patio look less than desirable. But if installed properly, pavers actually have more compressive strength than concrete and should never settle, sag or move for as long as you own your home.
At Gilliland Landscape, we are certified paver installers and take the time to do it right so you will be able to enjoy a stable patio for a very long time. And then we back our work with our industry-leading 5-year warranty. Your new paver patio will look great and be built to last.
The most expensive permeable patio, walkway, or driveway is the one you have to pay for twice! At Gilliland Landscape, we will build it right the first time, and then stand behind it. We don’t take shortcuts in the construction process; knowing it will ultimately shortcut our company’s future. Just like you, we are in this for the long haul!
