Flagstone Patios & Walkways
Flagstone, also known as Bluestone or Slate, is arguably one of the interesting and aesthetically appealing hardscapes you can have. Flagstone, which is a natural material, has certain advantages over other types of hardscape materials. One benefit is that each piece is unique and has a rich, natural look. Flagstone can be great for both formal and natural landscapes. We have the capability to install flagstone throughout Centre, Clearfield, Indiana, & Jefferson Counties. This includes areas like Clearfield, Dubois, Brookville, Punxsutawney, Indiana, Philipsburg, and State College.
Flagstone isn’t right for everyone. The very fact that each piece is natural and unique also means it is logically less flat than other patio and walkway options. Depending on what your outdoor living needs, it may or may not be a great option for you.
Another interesting use for flagstone is for naturalized stone steps, or steppers, which can be placed in the landscape for areas which require occasional access. They are also great in woodland settings because they provide a suitable walkway while keeping you out of the dirt. The flagstone is set on a compacted gravel base to prevent settling or unstableness.
The most expensive flagstone patio or walkway is the one you have to pay for twice! At Gilliland Landscape, we will build it right the first time, and then stand behind it. We don’t take shortcuts in the construction process; knowing it will ultimately shortcut our company’s future. Just like you, we are in this for the long haul!
